Smoky Tea-Infused Barbecue Sauce

Another FANTASTIC  recipe from Joe Bucco! 
   2 cups dark pop (coke, root beer, dr. pepper)
   2 Tablespoons Tupelo Honey Teas Lapsang Souchong
   2 1/2 cups ketchup
   2 Tablespoons brown sugar
   1/4 cup chopped onion
   2 Tablespoons worcestershire
   1/4 cup vinegar
   1 teaspoon garlic powder
   1 teaspoon hot sauce
   1/2 teaspoon black pepper
In saucepan, reduce pop down to 3/4 cup. When reduced, transfer to a cup and add your tea in a tea-ball or cheesecloth, and let steep 20 minutes. While thats steeping, add everything else in the saucepan and bring to a simmer. Simmer until the tea is done steeping, add that to the pot, and simmer 10 minutes more. Taste the finished sauce, and adjust to your personal taste (add more hot sauce if you like it spicy, honey if you like it sweeter, etc.) and your sauce is ready to enjoy. Sauce can be used as a condiment or you can cook your meat right in it, examples pork shoulder, chicken, etc.
