Every Dark Cloud Has A Silver Lining

Some say every dark cloud has a silver lining.  I try to believe this and search for the good amongst the most disappointing and trying times.  Late last week was no exception.

As I had blogged about last time, today was supposed to be the day I was talking about iced tea at the Ross Community Center.  I spent all day Thursday prepping for the class.  I finally got around to trying out some new recipes.  I tested some new methods for brewing and had a really great kid free day.  Yes, I even got a babysitter.

I guess there were some internal glitches in the notifying system because I never got word of the class being cancelled by the community center.  It wasn’t until a friend who was signed up for the class texted me her disappointment, that I got first word of the cancellation.

Refusing to let the cancelled class get me down, I began looking for that silver lining.  Yes, I had a million other things I could have been doing.  Yes, I was just walking in from spending money at the grocery store for the event when I got the text.  Yes, I was every bit confused and disappointed with not being able to do what I love to do…. preach tea.  However, I did find a silver lining or two.

First, I now have a bunch of iced tea recipes under my belt.  I’ll be sharing these soon with all of you.

Second, no class has freed up time to get a much needed massage.

So it seems one persons mistake has turned into an advantage for me and my tingling arm and also for you.  Stay tuned for some recipes!
