EVENT: January 21, 2009
I will be at “The Vault” tomorrow evening from about 6 pm till about 8 or 9 pm. I will be sampling teas from my collection and the audience will be voting in new teas for “The Vault” to carry. If you are not familiar with “The Vault”, it is located at 3619 California Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. It is home to an AWESOME staff of dedicated coffee and tea drinkers, headed by the do all Cindy, AND boasts some pretty famous local music acts….. (Joe Grueshecky, Brad Yoder, etc).
The food is fantastic. I’ve had the spicy grilled cheese sandwich and one of their MEGA cinnamon rolls, baked fresh every day. As in the words of Rachel Ray, YUM-O!
“The Vault” also serves Tupelo Honey Teas and more specifically, their house chai is a custom blend that the staff and I have worked on to perfect just for the clientel of “The Vault”. Since I am not coffee expert, you’ll just have to try it out for yourself and tell me.
The clientel of “The Vault” is very diverse. On many occasions I enter to find professionals to youngsters hanging out and enjoying a beverage and some food. I’ve met some of the most diverse people while there…… Everyone from the local voodoo guy, to the well-educated gentleman, to an older couple on a date, to a young artist hoping to spread her wings. This is a place you feel you can come, rest your feet, chat if you want or just nuzzle up into a couch and read a book. Tomorrow, when I will be there, a group of knitters come and sit around, knitting, chatting and drinking tea. Also, a church group makes frequent appearances on wednesday evenings. Again, it speaks for the diversity of the shop!
If you haven’t checked it out yet, you need to do so…… I promise, you will NOT be disappointed!!!!
Hope to see you there!!!
